Day 1:
Ø I will collect any homework (Chapter 7 questions)
Ø Discuss the use of fear ad propaganda
Ø Discuss the political change occurring
Ø Read chapter 8 together
Ø Stop to discuss how Napoleon is becoming more like a dictator.
Ø After reading “Comrade Napoleon” we will stop reading, and I will hand out a side by side printout of this poem and “Beasts of England”
Ø As a class compare and contrast the first stanza
Ø You will finish on your own and hand in at the end of the period
Ø I will hand out Chapter 9-10 Vocabulary
Ø Homework: complete vocabulary and finish the book
Day 2:
Ø I will collect chapters 9 and 10 vocabulary
Ø Hand out ‘Writing Assignment #2’
Ø You are to choose one of the questions on the paper to answer. To do so you are to use complete sentences and defend your answers in an essay of at least one page. How these essays will look will vary since there are so many questions to choose from.
Ø I will give you the rest of the class period to work
Ø These will be due in rough draft form tomorrow
Ø Homework: Work on essay
Day 3:
Ø I will stamp and check rough drafts
Ø You will switch with a partner and look for spelling errors/ sentence errors
Ø Remember to look for correct sentence structure, you have all been taught it so now look for it in each-others papers
Ø After you have had 2 people read over your essay you can start to write your final draft
Ø Homework: Work on revisions and be ready to type on Monday
